Kuala Lumpur City - Batu Caves (Hindu Temple) - Selangor (Monkey Hill) - -

Kuala Lumpur was an interesting city. The mix of old and new culture makes for a modern city, tourist accessible and pleasant to visit. There are many shopping malls, markets and places of interest. It has a night life like most big cities though it has a feel like it is easy to relax and get around in. The traffic jams don't feel relentless like other busy cities and to help with commuter congestion it host quite well designed and efficient monorail, train and bus systems. They also have a pretty cheap 'hop-on, hop-off' bus service which does a big lap of the city locating all the main city attractions, the round trip took about 2 or 3 hours but it saved us a lot of bother in wondering around in the heat - oh  - it is really hot here but the way - sweaty!!

We had some fun in KL - on the first night we found a lovely Whiskey Bar, and a great place to eat and had a cheap massage on the way back to the hotel. You could easily spend all your money in KL, from boozing around and enjoying good food from place to place or, bargaining and shopping in Chinatown. Just outside the city, with a short train ride, you get to a place called Batu Caves - it is really spectacular. Batu Caves is an attraction from Hindu believer and non-believers alike basically because it is amazing and big, but because it is a religious space it host a massive festival every year and many travel far and wide to climb the 280 stairs (approx) without stopping to get their wish.

On our last night in KL we went on a tour to the coast to see the fireflies that visit the shore just near a fishing village on the river in Selangor. The afternoon and evening was a nice trip, especially because we met some friendly monkeys and had a great seafood dinner before visiting the fireflies in a cool boat. We could get photos of the fireflies because our camera is not as good as yours!!!!
